Never Again....
will I drive 11 hrs in one day by myself.
The drive actually wasn't that bad. It went pretty fast and my car did great. I just hate driving at night. It got scary when I left the seminar around 8:45 and realized my phone was completely dead. I panicked a little at the idea of driving through the night on mostly deserted roads with no way to contact anyone. I stopped a few times at gas stations on the way home and used the pay phone to call my grandma who has had the same phone number since I was twelve and the only number I have memorized.
I had planned on making some calls on 5 hr drive home to help me stay awake so instead I just cranked my music and sang and danced my way home. I finally made it home around 2 and went straight to bed.
Oh, and I managed to lock myself into a McDonalds bathroom stall somewhere in Oklahoma. Luckily I got the lock turned back because there would have been no way out if I hadn't. I can just see myself yelling for someone to come let me out. That would've been so embarrasing.
The seminar (Babies and Bellies) was a great seminar and I learned a ton. Sandy Puc is a great business woman and it was an honor to hear about the things that had worked for her business over the last 20 years. I met some new people and had a great time. I have a ton of notes and samples to go through today.
Overall it was a good trip, but next time I'm going to find seminars that are closer. :)

I Love Weekends
I really do. Except my weekends never really slow down. Between photoshoots, church and friends they always end up being jam packed. I love it though... eventhough I pretend I don't. I'm the most talented person I know at staying busy. Is talented the word? :)
I'm leaving tomorrow morning for Oklahoma City to attend Babies and Bellies. I'm really excited for the opportunity to go and learn more about family and children's photography. It's going to be a long drive (5hrs there and back) but I think it will be worth it. I've been craving something new and I think this is exactly what I need.
Last weekend Veronica and David had a reception here in Tyler. They were married in Chicago on July 2nd but David's parents weren't able to come so they wanted to celebrate a little closer to home. It was a great time and I was honored to be a part of it.

David & Veronica

David and his mom had their dance. It was a really precious moment.
I love this picture. Once he noticed I was snapping pictures he started striking poses. It was hilarious.

I also got the chance to do portraits of my lovely roommate Stacia. We had a blast on Tuesday night! Stacia an amazing person and one of the hardest working people I know. She kicks butt at pretty much everything she does. Love ya Stacia!!
We found an old abandon Mosque downtown. It was perfect because Stacia loves the middleast.
If you haven't noticed all these pictures are in B&W. I'm on a HUGE B&W kick right now. Maybe next time I'll get some color up on this thing!
Lastly, but definitely not least. Happy birthday to my dear friend Shawn Hayward. Happy Birthday!!

Summer Update
Check out this video from my vacation a few weeks ago. I love Animoto, they're amazing.
We went to Maryland, Pennsylvania, Virginia, and DC for two weeks. I had an amazing time seeing the east coast for the first time and getting to meet new family. It was great to spend more time with my Dad's family!
While I was back east I was privileged to be the photographer for Ed and Jessie Parke's wedding. They are a great couple and wish them a long happy marriage.

I also had a portrait session with these two lovely girls. We found this wonderful wheat field that had just been cut. It was the perfect location and they even let me see their best Hannah Montana impression, which I must say was very good.

It was a great vacation and I had a ton of fun. After two weeks, though, I was ready to get back to work and regular life... I know, I'm crazy. I just have too much to do. I feel weird being gone that long.
Wedding season is here and I have at least 5 wedding announcements on my fridge! it's keeping me busy. It seems like everyone in the world is either getting married or having a baby. Ha! I love it! It makes me happy.
Ok. I'm starting to babel...
